General Off-Topic / Re: Online Users' Unusual Activities
« on: July 21, 2019, 02:38:18 AM »
Just found a Post in General discussion that was a shameless copy of one of my Own posts.... just with a spooky Link in there...
Probably many of the users you saw are bots indeed...

Oh! I understand what you meant, now. I'll go to that post and edit my response, lol. That's very strange. What purpose does someone's bot serve in ? Or a human that copies, what's their purpose? lol

The post in question, to the observers of this thread:,5736.0.html

That wonderful thought has never occured to me--expanding the player's sandbox to sound. I like it! We can make our ships look nice and function uniquely (sort of), but we've yet to make them sound custom-ly special!

Haha, that's just great--good to hear! I actually do not know of a cheat command for adding modules. You can always add Computer Cores  to your ships to give them higher processing scores (if that's what it's called) so that you might have an extra module, in case you didn't know.

I just wanted to comment, again, on how there are a surprisingly large number of guests that check user profiles for no obvious reason, haha. 55 members online and it looks as though 20 of them are viewing profiles I would never have guessed would be viewed. I wonder why?

I 100% agree about the Xsotan needing a truly distinctive style.

I read to item 10 and I have to agree with all of what I read. I might continue reading tomorrow.
I might have the solution to your problem in item 5. From what I remember, pressing 'R' will locate the nearest enemy. I think you're pressing something like 'Tab' or the other which doesn't do that. Although, I wish 'R' wouldn't select torpedoes since they're so common that the 'R' button will only select one from the barrage of torpedoes instead of the dozens of ships sending them.

Oh, I almost forgot! since you use the creative mode, you might find this command very handy:
/run Entity():addScript("lib/entitydbg.lua")
After running, you can click on the new icon to the far left of the upper-right corner. Click on it to gain countless cool commands. Maybe you'll find a use for something like generating a turret factory? So many of them are useful!

Yay to boarding! I'm currently reading the update notes.

Suggestions / Re: Color Blind friendly

Any update on this? I've not looked for any mods yet  so I'm hopeful but I'd much prefer options in game for those of us that are colour deficient.
Yes, I have news. According to the news page, the next major update will be massive and bring:
-mods in the Steam Workshop
-many more modifiable files
-modding guides such as a general guide, examples, "internals" guide, troubleshooting, and best practices (these are officially available in the Wiki)

With these, I assume that someone, if not a developer, will present a color scheme for the color-blind. Stay alert in the workshop and forum for such a mod!

User Guides / Re: Sir Charles' Guide(s)

Those pages look nice. I'm glad someone is updating the Wiki. Hopefully you will not only add information and guides, but also display screenshots for examples.

General Discussion / Re: Second Monitor

I wouldn't know, myself, but I searched for "steam second monitor turning on and off" and found this first-result steam page.

Some replies (about another game and from 2015) that might be of help:

I had massive screen tearing too, it was fixed by forcing vsync OFF in the ini file, set the FPS cap to 55 (monitor refresh is 60) turned off AA in the game and set the card settings to override to max AA supersampling, also set the card to override game settings on tesselation to 16x. After that, looks amazing and no more tearing.

I'm running an AMD R9 290, not sure how all that will translate over to Nvidia, but good luck man.
Thanks Duder, I can figure out how to get all that done on Nvidia.

I did find a slightly easier way around it though by changing a setting in the Nvidia control panel relating to the monitor aspect ratio, so it's really copacetic now. Desktop is still really tied together well and the game is fully Zen with that ;)

Thanks again for your help, keep on abiding

Bro, you can't just say "by changing a setting in Nvidia control panel" and not say what it is. What was it that you changed? Please provide some details, bro. Thanks.

NVidia Control Panel -> Display -> Adjust desktop size and position -> Scaling

Under this menu set Both monitors to Full-screen and be sure to check the
"Override the scaling mode set by games and programs" box.

Don't forget to hit apply.

I met with limited success with this so your mileage may vary. Your best bet is to follow The Dudes advice and kiss Aero theme goodbye

Hope this helps! You really should just look at the page yourself or try my Google search.

I've read the first half and can definitely agree since we might be short crewmen as the boarding update comes nearer. Have to leave for now.

Haha, I agree with your post here. By the way, don't forget the magic word "please"!

I know what you mean and second your question.

General Off-Topic / Online Users' Unusual Activities
« on: May 24, 2019, 04:38:31 AM »
Does anyone else find the current activities of guest users and members interesting to look at but also very odd or unusual? If you don't know what I'm talking about, first go to the main forum page in order to click on one of the lowest buttons in the page about how many guests and users are online. Then, notice that there are (probably) ONE THIRD of the users viewing other users' profiles. The vast majority of the profiles aren't even active, lol. Some have zero posts--how do they find such users? haha

I didn't even know that there was a 'print' option at the top right of each topic page. I thought it would help me print on paper, but it actually made the text and formatting very plain to be digitally copied and read easily--or whatever else. Another question: does anyone use this feature of the forums?
